Advocacy 101: How to Navigate the TN Legislature, Saturday, December 7th, 3:15 PM, Room 312
Rebecah Boynton is a writer, activist, and Alabama native with more than 20 collective years working in food and agriculture. She holds a B.Sc. in Horticulture from Auburn University, and works to create robust market access for small food and farm business owners. Her organization, the TN Food & Farming Alliance, passed the Farmers Market Food Unit Bill in 2023 which gave all Tennessee farmers market vendors the opportunity to sample, prep, cook, and serve food from beneath pop-up tents across the state. She is currently the manager of Growing Together — a community farm and market-access program under The Nashville Food Project for refugees with agricultural backgrounds. Her favorite part of her work is assisting other female food-and-farm business owners reach financial autonomy and control over their own lives, as well as being a loud-mouth, truth-telling feminist whenever and wherever she can.
