Nick Thompson

Co-Director of the Youth Garden Education Program, Knox County Community Gardens & Growers' Alliance

Urban Ag Fireside Chats, Friday, December 6th, 9:00 AM, Classroom 305

Born and raised in Knoxville, Nick comes from a long line of land stewards who taught him the importance of caring deeply about the land and its people. After a stint in commercial landscaping, Nick discovered his passion for working with youth in his role as a School Garden Coordinator, where he served the community he grew up in.

Nick takes pride in growing food in a way that caters to the plants, the people, and the ecosystem that surrounds us. Coming from a big family, working with youth comes very naturally to him; his exuberant inner 12-year-old shines through. He loves sharing his interests with students and supporting them in finding theirs.

Nick found his perfect fit with the Knox County Community Gardens & Growers' Alliance in his role as Co-Director of the Youth Garden Education Program, where he blends his native plant expertise, his agricultural skills, and his dedication to enriching education.
