Melonie Lusk

Executive Director, Crabtree Farms

Melonie Lusk has worked in non-profit leadership and consulting for over twenty-five years and joined Crabtree Farms, a non-profit urban farm in Chattanooga, in 2019. After serving her first year as the part-time Director of Development, she has since served as the Executive Director. Melonie was called to the farm as her interest in local food, regional agriculture, and people’s medicine was spiking and she wanted a position in which she could combine her passions and skill sets within a community-focused setting.

Melonie can be seen in and around the community and currently serves on the leadership team of the Southeast TN chapter of the National Young Farmers Coalition, and is a member of the USDA - TN State Technical Committee and their Urban Agriculture subcommittee, and the Chattanooga National Park City advisory committee - Food and Agriculture subcommittee.

She has a strong interest in learning the many facets of sustainable agriculture and local food movements and collaborates with folks from all walks of life to pursue food sovereignty. Melonie keeps to a simple goal – to empower individuals to make meaningful impact in their community within a framework of compassion and partnership.
