Getting Reading For GrantsA workshop for farmers!

with Stephen Ussery of Stewards Unlimited

Join us on Facebook Live at 5:00 PM CT on Wednesday, August 23, 2023.

About this event:

Farmers deserve better.

Small farmers are the backbone of America and are an important part of creating sustainable local food economies. Although they do important work, many small farmers value taking care of their land, animals, and communities more than turning a profit. Do you wish you had more time and money for:
●  Developing your farm, new products, and local markets;
●  Improving the health of your land and animals;
●  Mentoring other young farmers; and
●  Helping community members, researchers, and educators see what farming is really like?

Federal grants can help.

There are new grant opportunities where small farmers can increase their profitability, customer base, and product offerings. Working with someone you trust that understands your business and what kinds of opportunities you have can help you win more funding, develop new products and services, expand local community engagement, and increase profitability. In 2021 alone,

●  Ran-Lew Dairy in Snow Camp, North Carolina won just under $400,000 for yogurt production through the Dairy Business Innovation Initiative program.
●  Barreras Family Farm in Blair, Nebraska won $249,518 for beef processing through the Value-Added Producer Grant.
●  In their second year of farming, Riverview Farms in Fillmore, New York won $49,955 to develop new pork products through the Value-Added Producer Grant.

We help farmers get funding.

Stewards Unlimited has helped these small farmers to change their businesses forever by:
●  Identifying and evaluating new funding opportunities
●  Designing competitive projects which further the farm’s goals
●  Winning funding through proposal development

In addition to managing the process from beginning to end, we help our farmers connect with other professional services and provide the right help at the right time. We pride ourselves on becoming the “one-stop-shop” resource for many of our clients and helping your farm grow into new markets without compromising your values.

Whether exploring general farm development, wanting to research and win more funding, or needing a business plan or feasibility study completed, we would love to be your stewards.

Understanding opportunities is the first step.

At the workshop, we will go over details of how you can take tangible steps forward to win your farm grants. A brief overview of potential topics include:

●  Some of the best grant options for small farmers
●  Making your farm “grant ready”
●  How to write a competitive grant
●  How to work with contractors on a grant
●  What to expect after you receive your first grant

Although the opportunities in this workshop will be focused on producers, the content will be applicable for those applying for non-profit, processing, and research grants as well. Please feel free to reach out and request any specific content be covered at admin@stewardsunlimited.com or fill out a contact for at https://www.stewardsunlimited.com/

We look forward to seeing you at the workshop!
