About the Musicians:

Annie Sellick & Tom Sturdevant

Nashville native Annie Sellick, a long-time favorite vocalist was awarded “Best Jazz Artist” by readers of the Scene five years in a row.  She is known for her charming stage presence and for the storytelling aspect of her song-delivery, qualities which have set her apart for jazz audiences all over the world.

In 2006 when she was seeking material from local songwriters that fit the 1930’s swing-era style, she met Tom Sturdevant and looked no further.  Learning and performing his songs about love, life and lovable characters lead to two albums of Sturdevant’s songs sung by Annie, and perhaps more importantly, a deep friendship that’s lasted ever since.

Tom is a true renaissance man.  After being a Peace Corp trainer and agronomist, he moved to Nashville to pursue his creative interests, filmmaking and music.  He’s also invented and sold games (most recently the popular Q-Less), all the while a prolific songwriter who continues to create, collaborate and contribute.

“The world is a sweeter place through Tom’s eyes,” says Annie.
